Paul McKay from Seattle, USA was the overall Champion Piper at today’s annual Vale of Atholl Pipe Band Junior Piping and Drumming Competition.

The competition saw a record number of entries across all disciplines. Vale Chairman, Ian Elrick said: “What a fantastic day it was. All the judges reported favourably on the standard of talent coming through in this region in both piping and drumming. The number of entries, too – 130 – is a sign that things are returning to normal after the pandemic. Our thanks go to all the competitors, their parents, the judges, our sponsors – McCallum Bagpipes, Kintail Bagpipes and the Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust – our catering team and the stewards.
