Angus Cameron Leading the Novice March

The Vale of Atholl Pipe Band is delighted to announce the appointment of Angus Cameron to the position of Pipe Major of its newly formed Novice Juvenile band.

Angus grew up in Falkirk, and was taught by Logan Tannock. He also played with the Falkirk Youth Piping Group alongside our Principal Instructor, Gary Nimmo. Angus’s role will be to lead our Novice band under Gary’s direction, as well as preparing Novice members to develop, improve and perform.

Principal Instructor Gary Nimmo said: ” I am delighted that Angus has joined the leadership team at the Vale of Atholl. His enthusiasm, dedication and experience will be greatly utilised as we continue to develop the bands Tuition Academy.”

“Adding Angus to this role means that we now have effective leadership and experience from our beginners classes, through the advanced classes, Novice Band, Grade 4a Band and now right into our senior Grade 3 band.”

The first outing for the Novice band will be on the 26th of February at the Perth Burns Celebration parade.
